Sea or Cortez - We are in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico on Sea Biscuit now.

As we were eating dinner the other night Kyle (who is 5 1/2) said, "You know guys, when I was younger I didn't know we were going to live on a sailboat for a year."  Ken explained to him that it has been his plan for years and we have finally made it happen.

The last three weeks were very hectic putting all our stuff into the storage shed, cleaning the house up for the renters, selling the old grey truck, selling the Honda to my dad, getting our dog Truck settled in with our neighbor and leaving New Mexico.

We left Nambe on Monday the 14th, stayed with my mom for two nights, then Wednesday Kyle and I flew to Tucson. Ken drove and met us at the hotel in Tucson. Thursday we drove to San Carlos. We left at 9AM and arrived at 3PM.  The border crossing at Nogales was not bad, although you couldn't call it streamlined.  It took an hour to do what it took Ken 15 minutes to do last time.

We have been getting the truck unpacked and filling up the boat at a slow but steady pace.  Where to put all the stuff we brought?  Hopefully we'll find space for it all.

Today my dad is coming for a visit to see Sea Biscuit before we head to La Paz, Baja sometime in the next week or so.

  1. Hi Kyle,
We'll miss you. We hope you have a wonderful day. I ave been getting a lot of money in my bank account on drag racing. Everybody misses you in class but wishes they were sailing around the world too. I want to be your pen pal when you are the boat.

    Happy Thanksgiving

  2. Hey guys,
We have been thinking of you three daily. It has been chilly in SFe---clear and bright today with a nice dusting up top. How was Thanksgiving on the "Biscuit?" Seamus hpe to share some pics with Kyle along the way. Is there a way to post pictures to your blog? The kids at school talk about Kyle all the time --- very intrigued by where he has gone, the boat etc. Hope you are having a great adventure.
